Rain - My happiness quotient!

The blue sky peeps from under the clouds, teasing me, smiling at me, telling me to embrace the clouds as it did. I looked up and I smiled. Such a vast embrace. Such an enchanting sight!

When I feel the drizzle on my face, I cannot describe the happiness that gushes through me. All my worry, all my insecurity, all that is negative, just vanishes in thin air. Just experiencing the moment makes me want to freeze it in time. And freeze it does; in my memories, in the depths of my being.

Alas, this bliss does not last forever. Just like the rain, it comes and then it has to go. The sky keeps giving me the message that I am just an iota and that nothing lasts forever. But for me to understand what it is saying to me, I will have to direct my glance upwards. The sky will do its part only when I do my part. And my part is to look upward.

The sky says that what happens with me is just so insignificant. It says that I should look around me. It says I should observe. The sky humbles me; because when I look around, my pain seems so trivial.

The clouds do not come to take away anything from us. They come to give. All around us, nature just gives. And we keep taking. That is the source of our unhappiness. That is what makes everything so complicated.

We receive happiness. That is how it is meant to be. 'Giving' is meant to be. This is how nature functions. But as is the habit with us, we always go against nature and then we wonder why we are unhappy!

We take all the time. How much do we give?

Contentment!

An acceptance
a strange calm
in the abyss of my being

An unclouded bliss
a contentment
all a part of this feeling

An optimism
a flight to heights
the universe conspiring

An unending want
an earnest appeal
of lasting well-being
